Become a Recupel point

As a retailer, how can you easily help collect discarded electro-appliances with Recupel?

As a Recupel point, you have an efficient solution for collecting used electro-appliances and electronic devices and/or light bulbs. It is also an additional service for your customers or visitors.

Becoming a Recupel point is easy and completely free of charge.

Why become a Recupel point?

Legally, any retailer selling electrical appliances or light bulbs is required to take back their customers' used appliances or light bulbs upon purchase of any new equivalent. Recupel point offers a regular and free collection at Recupel points.

As a retailer, you are also required to inform your customers about how their discarded electro-appliances are processed and about any fees involved. Recupel assists you in this by providing free information materials. Order these here.

As a business or public institution, you can also become a Recupel point as part of your own sustainability initiatives, thereby providing an additional service to your customers. It is also an efficient option if you accumulate a large number of discarded electro-appliances or light bulbs yourself.

As a Recupel point, you will be compensated

Good news! If you, as a physical electrical or electronics store, want to become a Recupel point, you can claim compensation for storing the collected electrical appliances in the pallet boxes and containers we provide. We understand that temporary storage of larger appliances means extra effort on your part.
You are entitled to compensation if you:

  • are registered as a Recupel point
  • have collected enough appliances (min. 8 individual items, 1 filled pallet box or 1 filled container)
  • have signed a distributor contract

This compensation does not apply to the blue boxes found at retailers for customers to deposit their light bulbs and small electro-appliances.

Got a large number of discarded electrical appliances or electronic devices?

Reckon you accumulate enough electro-appliances to fill up four pallet boxes per year? Then you might want to consider becoming a Recupel point. We will come to your premises and install a free box pallet (1 m wide, 1.2 m deep, 1.7 m high) for collecting any discarded electrical appliances. On average, each pallet box can contain between 170 and 200 kg worth of items. Got a full pallet box? Visit our website and arrange a collection, free of charge.

Got a lot of large items (freezers, fridges, washing machines, etc.)? Then request a container.
