As a retailer, you are obliged to take back refrigerators and freezers that you replace with new appliances. If you then deliver them to Recupel or to a collector authorised by Recupel, you may use the 'Here we recycle properly' label. For this you must be registered with Recupel as a collection point. Are you already a Recupel collection point? Then apply for your label via werecyclerengoed@recupel.be.
1. How do I become a fridge-freezer collection point?
Option 1: You are not yet part of our network of collection points? Then you can apply to join it HERE.
Option 2: You are already a Recupel collection point for small electro-appliances or light bulbs; or a collection point for other equipment, but not yet for refrigerators and freezers? Call 0800/11.539 or e-mail us at logistics@recupel.be to also become a fridge-freezer collection point.
Once your application to become a fridge-freezer collection point has been approved, you will receive a code from us. With this code, you can use the Recupel quality label.

With this label on your door, shop window or in your business, consumers can see at a glance that when they buy a new refrigerator or freezer, they can leave their old appliance with you with peace of mind, because they have a guarantee that these will be recycled correctly.

As an existing collection point, you will automatically receive from us a code to activate and use your label.
4. More information
Recupel organises the collection of your filled receptacles (pallet box, cardboard, boxes, box, etc.) free of charge.
A collection can be requested for at least 8 (eight) separate units (large white appliance, refrigerator or freezer), or one filled receptacle (pallet box or container of 38m³). (Only applicable for household WEEE).
The collection is usually done 3 working days after a request.
In the event of checks, you can present signed proof of transport.
Recupel is aware that making space available for temporary storage of discarded appliances requires an extra effort. We therefore grant a financial disbursement if you meet all the conditions.
